Haneda arrival: getting five people into town 羽田空港アクセス
Haneda is inside Tokyo, about 20 km from the centre, so every option is short. Keikyu is the cheapest and reaches Asakusa with no transfer at all (through-service onto the Toei Asakusa line). The Tokyo Monorail is the alternative but forces a change at Hamamatsucho. The Airport Limousine coach goes to major hotels and stations without you touching a transfer, which matters with five sets of luggage. Flat-rate taxis exist and are published per destination.
Tip: FOR FIVE PEOPLE: a standard Japanese sedan taxi legally takes 4 passengers, so a group of 5 needs a jumbo/van taxi or two cars. A pre-booked private transfer for a 5-6 seat vehicle runs roughly ¥7,600-10,000 INCLUDING tolls (Klook/Viator) - cheaper than two flat-rate taxis and roughly EUR 9-12 per person. Flat-rate reference fares: Tokyo Station ¥7,600, Shibuya ¥8,500, Asakusa ¥9,100, plus tolls, with a surcharge 22:00-05:00. Say 'teigaku' (定額) and confirm the fare in writing at the information counter before getting in. Between midnight and 05:00 only the night Limousine bus (roughly double fare) and taxis run.

Suica / Welcome Suica on iPhone Suica・Welcome Suica
The IC card that covers every train, subway, bus and most convenience stores nationwide. On an iPhone (8 or later) it lives in Apple Wallet, works with Express Transit so you never unlock the phone, and can be topped up on the platform. This is the single biggest quality-of-life item for five people moving around Tokyo - no ticket machines, no fare calculation, no queue.
Tip: SET IT UP ON THE PLANE OR BEFORE FLYING - Add Card > Transit Card > Suica in Apple Wallet, no Japanese Apple ID needed. FOREIGN VISA CARDS ARE OFTEN REJECTED for top-ups; put a Mastercard or Amex in Wallet as the funding card. Since March 2025 there is also a Welcome Suica Mobile app for iPhone in English, valid 180 days, built for international cards. Android needs Osaifu-Keitai hardware, so non-Japanese Android phones generally cannot do this - those people should collect a physical card at the airport.
